Metrics
What is Impressions?
Ad Impressions
The number of times your ad was displayed to shoppers.
Impressions measure how many times your ad was displayed to Amazon shoppers. Each time your ad appears on a search results page or product detail page, it counts as one impression.
Understanding Impressions
Impressions ≠ Views
- An impression means your ad loaded on the page
- It doesn't mean the shopper saw it
- Above-the-fold impressions are more valuable
Why Impressions Matter
Reach
More impressions = more shoppers seeing your brand
Share of Voice
Impressions ÷ Total category impressions = Your visibility
Funnel Top
Impressions → Clicks → Conversions
Without impressions, nothing else happens.
Factors Affecting Impressions
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Bid amount | Higher bid = more impression opportunities |
| Budget | Low budget limits daily impressions |
| Relevance | Amazon shows relevant ads more often |
| Search volume | Popular keywords have more impression potential |
| Competition | More competitors = harder to win impressions |
